So I figured a blog would be an appropriate way to document my second time 'round here in Juneau, AK...so here goes!

The flights up were awesome -- with lots of cool severe wx over the Iowa:
The layovers kind of sucked -- but you can't do much about that. I arrived in Juneau Sunday night quite tired, but excited to be back at my new summer home. This entire week has been very un-Juneau like...with sunny skies and 70's all week. I got to do one of my favorite hikes from last summer (Mt. Roberts) on Memorial day, and had fun hiking the last 1/2 mile of the trail through snow! Sadly, that also meant that the upper trail was closed, so I couldn't hike up as high as I wanted. It's pretty cool how much more snow there is up on the mountain tops this year compared to last year. They set all sorts of records last year, but all it took was April snow up high, and bam! more snow for me to play in. The view from Roberts is really nice though, and sunny skies and good visibilities made for some awesome shots:
So, I'm very excited to be back in Juneau, and hopefully I'll be good about keeping this blog up. So here's a picture of my 'hometown', and check back soon!
